Warehouse Service Standard for Forward-Deployed Inventory – Restrictions on Forward-Deployed Inventory for Vietnam Based Sellers

To standardize sellers’ overseas warehouse operations and to maintain a great customer experience for our cross-border buyers, we are introducing restrictions for Vietnam-based sellers’ use of forward-deployed (i.e. where your item is shipped from an overseas warehouse to a buyer in a country that is different from where you are located) inventory.

What you need to know

From 1 April 2021, all eBay accounts registered by Vietnam-based sellers will need to apply for approval to use forward-deployed inventory.

Only accounts which have forward-deployed listings and/or transactions after 1 July 2020, but before 1 April 2021, need not apply as they will be automatically granted approval to use forward-deployed inventory.

How to apply

Please submit your application for approval to use forward-deployed inventory to your account manager. Applications will be considered based on each account’s business performance and record of compliance with the Warehouse Service Standard for Forward-Deployed Inventory.

If an account manager has not been designated for your eBay account, you cannot apply at this time.
